Details of Programme: A 28 day residential programme based on the Minnesota model. This consists of assessment, treatment planning, individual and group counselling, crisis intervention, client education and case management. The following supports are also offered to concerned persons; family therapy day, 8 week concerned person group, 5 day residential family programme, and ‘self help’ groups such as AA, GA, NA, Al-Anon. A new facility ‘Ceim Eile’ was recently established in Waterford and serves as a bridge for the chemically dependent person who has completed primary treatment. Its main purpose is to provide temporary accommodation and housing management and life skills training.
After Care: The 28 day residential programme is augmented by weekly sessions of group after care for a period of two years.
