HSE Section 65 Mainstream :Centre Manager and Afterschools Programme
This funding provides for a fulltime manager to oversee the running and development of all aspects of the centre. The afterschools programme provides a range of educational, recreational and developmental activities for children aged 7yrs to 14yrs. Activities include: Dance, drama, film, computers, sport and art. The programme aims to enhance the experiences of these children to be complimentary to the school system.

Youth Work Programme St. John Bosco
This programme has funding for two full time youth work positions. The youth workers provide a range of activities to youth people aged 10-21yrs in the Drimnagh area particularly targeting those deemed to be at risk. They also manage the youth café as a way of attracting young people into the centre and engaging with those young people. A wide range of activities are provided through the youth work programme including art programmes, personal development, film, summer activities.

Bosco New Options New Choices
This programme is an education programme funded by through CDYSB and FAS. It provides education through the FETAC system for young people aged 15yrs to 18yrs where they have left the mainstream education system. The programme provides a high level of support for these young people and aims to ensure that opportunities for progression into work and further education are not limited due to leaving school early.

Project Leader St. John Bosco
The role of this position is to oversee the various youth programmes operating within the centre. It is to ensure that all programmes operate within the policies of the centre, within budget and strive to develop their structures to maximise the services provided to young people. The position also has responsibility for the development of policies and recruitment and supervision of volunteers.

CLAY
CLAY was formed in January 2004. CLAY Ltd developed from the Lower Crumlin Development Group which formed in December 1999 to develop a centre for young people at risk in the Lower Crumlin Area.
The aims of CLAY are:
1. To provide and facilitate a fully integrated, caring and innovative youth centre primarily for the young people of the lower Crumlin area, creating new opportunities in a positive, vibrant environment.
2. To create a model of good practise that is reflected in policies, staffing and interventions.
3. To provide and facilitate a range of services and programmes, which will open up life opportunities for young people, particularly those at risk, allowing them to fully participate in the community and to give the young people a developed sense of self-respect and worth.
4. To facilitate the provision of direct and indirect services to disadvantaged young people
5. To play an active role in the integration and co-ordination of the development and delivery of services
6. To foster a sense of ownership through the encouragement of community and youth participation.
Young Peoples Facilitites and Services Fund (YPFSF)
YPFSF targets young people most at risk from substance misuse in disadvantaged areas.

Dublin 12 Regional Youth Service
The Dublin 12 Regional Youth Service currently covers the Poddle Close and Walkinstown areas of Dublin 12. The team consists of four Youth Workers and a project leader. The service also has a full time Administrator and Bus Driver. D12 Youth Service is a Partnership project managed by CDYSB. It offers a positive and supportive environment which enables young people to make positive choices in their lives. Work includes educational programmes—including Lifeskills, personal development, arts and creativity, sports and recreational activities; Programmes delivered with local schools; Support to individuals around access to training, education and life choices; Networking and co-operating with other agencies in a purposeful way with clearly stated objectives.

Stay in School Project
Objective: To assist participants to stay in school until completion of Leaving Cert through developing new attitudes to learning through a range of experiences in a holistic environment. Modules include: Personal and Social Development, Music Therapy, Computer Skills, Co-operation, Core curriculum subjects, Responsibility and Decision Making, Creativity, Art Therapy. Other supports include: Counselling.
Primary Level - Walk Tall
The Walk Tall proramme is an SPHE programme for the prevention of substance misuse at primary school level. The supports offered are:
1. Information on the Walk Tall programme to teachers.
2. Information sessions to parents on the programme as part of SPHE.
3. Active learning methodology workshops to teachers.
4. Information and support for school policy committies on Substance Misuse Policy development and review.

School Completion Programme
The focus of the Schools Completion Programme is on young people between the ages of 4 and 18 years old and who are educationally disadvantaged and at the risk of leaving school early.
In School Support Staff
Home/School/Community Liaison Project
20 schools in the Dublin 12 LDTF area participate in HSCL. The scheme is delivered through a Co-ordinator, who is assigned to a school or group of schools. The aims of the scheme are:
1. To maximise active participation of the children, in particular those who might be at risk of failure.
2. To promote active co-operation between home, school and relevant community agencies in promoting educational interests of children.
3. To raise awareness in parents of their own capacities to enhance childrens educational progress.
4. To enhance childrens uptake from education, their retention in the education system and their attitudes to life long learning.
Visiting Teacher for Travellers Service
A National Education Officer for Travellers is employed by the Dept of Education & Science and provides a visiting Teacher Service for Travellers. The Visiting Teacher provides advice and support to schools and to traveller families.

National Education Welfare Board (NEWB)
Parents are obliged to send their children to school from the age of 6 years, or to ensure that their child is in receipt of a certain minimum standard of education. All children who are to be educated outside the recognised school system must seek recognition with the NEWB.

FAS
You are eligible to take part on a FAS course if you are unemployed, redundant or out of full time education. In general people who are taking part in training courses are paid an allowance of €197. If you were receiving more than this your allowance is increased to the level of your Social Welfare payment. There are 66 FAS Employment Services Offices and 20 training centres throughout the country. All offices provide a registration, information, guidance and advice, referral and placement service for jobseekers. Jobseekers have access to careers information, self-help. Career guidance, information on training and further education, working abroad and job vacancies.
