Background
The Strengthening Families Programme (SFP) is a nationally and internationally recognized parenting and family strengthening programme for high-risk families. SFP is an evidence-based family skills training program found to significantly reduce problem behaviours, delinquency, and alcohol and drug abuse in children and to improve social competencies and school performance. Child maltreatment also decreases as parents strengthen bonds with their children and learn more effective parenting skills.

The success of the programme is dependent upon a multi-stakeholder approach from local services. Addiction Response Crumlin have worked collaboratively with the D12 LCDP Team, D12 LDTF and with stakeholders including HSE, Domestic Violence, Womens Action, Walkinstown Greenhills Resource centre, to deliver the Strengthening Families Programme.

Strengthening Families Programme has been rolled out in Dublin Local Drugs Task Force areas of Ballyfermot, Tallaght, Ballymun, Blanchardstown and also in Cork Regional Drug Task Force and South West RDTF.
