Dublin 12 Local Policing Forum
Dublin 12 Local Policing Forum (D12 L.P.F.)was formally established under the auspices of the Dublin South Central – Joint policing Committee (DSC-JPC) in January 2010. Its boundary area is equivalent to that of the D12 Local Drugs Task Force. The D12 PF replaces the Dublin 12 Community Safety Partnership which had been operating since 2006.
The primary functions of the D12 LPF is to :
* Improve communication and relationships between the Gardai, local authorities, other relevant stakeholders and the local community.
* Share and exchange relevant and appropriate information, including crime data on local areas. Agencies to provide feedback
* Identify issues of concern in relation to policing, anti-social behaviour and estate management.
* Improve the sense of safety and security for local residents and bring about real improvements in their quality of life;
* Identify and provide for the training needs of all stakeholders to participate in the LPF structure and process;
* Organise local lectures and seminars on topics relevant to the issues being addressed.
* Identify concerns within the community that come within the remit of the LPF. Formulate a response using interagency and community development approach.
MEMBERSHIP
* Representatives of An Garda Siochana of Inspector or more senior rank, plus Drug Sargent alternating with Community Sargent.
* Representatives of the local authority at a senior level, eg. Local Area Manager or person at equivalent level of responsibility.
* A representative nominated from the relevant local drug task force.
* Minimum of no less than three residents from the local community. In terms of a reporting, LPF community reps have mandate to represent the views of their Community Networks\ associations at LPF meetings
* One local authority elected member.
* The Committee may also include representatives of other state agencies as required.
* A representative from Dublin south county council local authority, to address Greenhills issues.
