The initiative has been developed as a unique approach to counteract the often high levels of unreported drug crimes. The number is a non-garda, confidential and free phone number which can help people contribute to the eradication of drug dealing in their area. The free-phone line is managed by professionals from outside the area who will not ask for details such names or trace the call; their sole objective is to gather as much intelligence as possible which will then be passed onto the Gardaí anonymously.
People from the Dublin 12 area may not have witnessed drug dealing first hand but they can still make the call, Dial-To-Stop-Drug-Dealing campaign wants to know what you have seen or have heard. By calling the free phone line 1800 220 220 and giving information, however small or significant, will help the Gardaí to build a case, investigate and take effective action.
The launch and promotion of the Dublin 12 Dial-To-Stop-Drug-Dealing campaign is an initiative being undertaken by the Dublin 12 Community Safety Partnership.
